Product do’s and dont’s –

Fairstone, Limestone, Natural Slate

Joint widths may vary due to the inherent size tolerance of Natural Sandstone Paving. Paving should never be butt jointed

If used indoors, paving should be sealed with a proprietary water-based acrylic sealant

Because these are natural materials cut to size there are occasional minor plan size variations. This can normally be allowed for in the laying pattern but it is recommended that layout is checked ‘dry’ before jointing

Though the natural origin of stone means variation in colour is inevitable, Marshalls strives through expert hand selection, to ensure the integrity of colour within each colour range

Although every effort is made to ensure consistency of product, colour or texture variation between production batches can occur. Despite the use of quality materials, modern and up to date manufacturing techniques and quality control, variation between production batches does occur.  Whilst any differences are generally quite minor, they will be noticeable when units from two production batches are laid consecutively within a single area.

The colours shown are a representative sample and viewing the actual product is recommended

Marshalls recommends paving be laid on a full bed of mortar with joints between 8-15mm wide and fully pointed with mortar or use brush-in Weatherpoint 365

The colours shown on the website are as exact as photographic processes will allow. We strongly recommend that colours are judged and chosen from actual materials rather than photographic representation depicted herein. Although every effort is made to ensure consistency of product colour, variations between production batches can occur. We therefore recommend that, when purchasing materials, especially in the case of larger quantities, they are thoroughly mixed on site.

Efflorescence. All concrete products may, in their early life, appear to lose some intensity of efflorescence staining. It is a temporary phenomenon and is in no way detrimental to the performance of the material and responsibility cannot be accepted for its efflorescence. This is quite different from efflorescence in concrete products and is caused by soluble salts within the clay being transported by water to the surface.
